Quality Assurance Engineer, Big Data
We usually respond within two weeks
About the Role and Team:
At Adform, data is the backbone of everything our clients do — and our Big Data reporting platform is where that data turns into the reports, charts and insights people actually act on. We are looking for a QA Engineer to take full ownership of quality across this platform, from the data flowing in, through transformations, to the reporting and analytics output our users rely on. You will join the reporting platform team: eight engineers, an architect and a Product Manager. This QA role means real end-to-end ownership: you design and run the tests, prepare the test data, verify the results and give the final sign-off. The stack is modern and database-heavy: SQL, Vertica, Hive, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and Python scripting. We are genuinely open to new ways of working, so there is space to introduce automation and use AI to speed up test data and script preparation. If you enjoy being the person who knows how the data really behaves, this role is for you.
We hope you are ready to change the game! Be ready to:
Design, execute and document test cases for the reporting platform across PreProd and Production
Prepare test data, run test scripts against it and verify reporting and analytics output
Validate data consistency and transformations across distributed storage layers (Hadoop, Vertica, Kafka)
Own end-to-end test plans for cross-team scopes, coordinating validation checkpoints and sign-off
Contribute to automated data consistency test frameworks and bring AI-supported efficiency into testing
Represent quality requirements in backlog refinement and scope planning
Produce structured test evidence for compliance-sensitive features (e.g. GDPR anonymisation, data obfuscation)
Coordinate testing with backend teams that have no dedicated QA function
Attitude First. Everything else will follow. We can grow together faster if you have:
2–3 years of experience as a QA / Test Engineer, ideally with data-heavy systems
Fluent english
Hands-on experience designing and executing test cases, with strong documentation habits
Solid understanding of database systems and confident SQL — this is the core of the role
Ability to coordinate testing across several teams and keep release readiness on track
A working understanding of big data tooling — Vertica, Hive, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Python scripting (deep expertise is not expected)
Curiosity about automation and about using AI to make testing faster and smarter
Adform's guiding principles ingrained in your profile: Focus on Client Value, Behave with Decency, Take Ownership, Care, Collaborate as a Team Player, Remain Ambitious, and Stand Tall in all interactions
Stand out by having:
Practical experience with test automation frameworks in Python, or with AI agents supporting test data preparation and execution
Background in big data analytics or reporting testing, or experience with GDPR / data privacy compliance testing
